“We
knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. Earth? The safe place?
Are you kidding me?” Izis sat with frustration on a chair and hid
her head in her hands. “Place with freedom?”
“It
was the safe place. Until the Battle for New York.” The girl with
purple fringe whispered. She was so upset about the Sokovia Accords,
so she clenched her fists. “Then aliens invaded Earth and now
people are scared that persons with powers will do worse and worse
damages.”
“What
are we going to do?” Finally asked white-haired Izis looking at her
with resignation. “Laura, we can't stay here forever. Sooner or
later humans are going to find out that we're not one of them. God,
we're not even Inhumans or mutants. This is bad, this is so bad.”
“To
be honest, I have no bloody idea, my friend. But I'm going to figure
something out.” Said Laura and stand up. “I'm going on a walk. Be
right back!” Announced girl and, before she left their hideout, she
added: “I'm sure if we stay with S.H.I.E.L.D., they'll help us.”
*~*
It was dark outside, so her outfit fitted well for the job she had
to do tonight. The young girl stopped under the Avengers tower and
looked up. “It will be a long way up”, the thought, looking
around to see if anyone's noticed her. Fortunately, not many people
were on the street. She smiled but her eyes stayed cold. “Let's do
this.”
“That's funny.” She taught to herself in her thoughts while she
was flying higher. She used her wings, even if there was no need to.
“Humans are scared of us, but if it comes to situations of life and
death they want to be saved by us... Paradox.”
Soon she was in the place she planned, so she hid her wings. From
the pocket of a black jacked the girl took out her necklace and
looked at silver oak leaf for a while. Then she used magic to open
the large window. Enchantress grimaced, because she landed on a floor
with a silent clatter. Luckily, there was nobody in the room. “Of
course, Stark's got another meeting and Happy should be on the
bedrooms' floor right now.” That put another smile on her face. She
snapped her fingers and walk towards the chamber. The girl noticed a
lot of things like Thor's belt, parts of the Hulkbuster's armor. It
seemed like she was in some kind of storeroom. Fairy sighed and
started looking for the thing she needed.
It wasn't so easy because girl had to be watchful. At first, she
wanted to use magic, but soon she realized that Vibranium would not
react. Civil War was not so long ago, but she had a feeling that
Stark could have this thing with him. She rubbed her eyes. That was
obvious. Roger's shield was made by Howard Stark. Tony probably kept
it in special room from where Captain America would not be able to
steal it.
Again she sighed and summoned her wings. The girl almost flew but
suddenly pain filled her. “What the hex?” She asked laying on the
ground with tears in her green eyes. It was so cold, too cold for
creature related to fire. It was like her wings had frozen.
“Well, well, well. Isn't that Laura Aseris Mirage, that “famous”
Tenebrian princess? What are you doing here?” Someone asked.
Hearing his voice he covered her ears with her hands and closed eyes.
“You are dead. You're not here. It's just my imagination.”
“Don't be silly. Do I look as dead person?” He asked and touched
her arm. “Interesting outfit but I will never understand why you
fairies can't fight without transforming.”
Laura slowly opened her eyes but still she can't breathe normally.
“Loki.” She whispered with sadness and tried to get up. She gave
up, because her wings were too heavy. “I thought you were dead!
DEAD! For over four years I thought that you died.” She yelled with
anger. Right now girl didn't care if someone will hear her. She was
just angry because of men kneeling before her.
“Calm down, princess. We don't want anyone to interrupt our little
conversation. I'm not here to fight.” He smiled. Laura noticed that
his dark hair were much longer than the last time when they had met.
“And what is the reason that you've frozen my wings?”
“It's very simple. I don't want you to get hurt when you will try
to attack me.” She looked at him irritation, but she didn't answer.
Loki stood up and continued: “Did Coulson's fanboy soul came back
to life that he ordered you to steal Rogers' shield?”
“I'm not stealing it! Just borrowing for a while.” She blushed.
That was her plan. To borrow shield from Stark. He's not using it
anyway and it would be big advantage when Izis and Laura would find
Rogers.
“And Coulson knows nothing about it?” Loki raised an eyebrow in
wonder. “You're a terrible agent. Really.”
“But I'm good sidekick. So better watch out, Loki.”
“But I'm good sidekick. So better watch out, Loki.”
“Yes, yes, yes. I have a proposition.” He turned away from her
and started walking around the room. Laura could just look at him. It
was too cold to use her magic.
“What proposition?” She asked finally.
Loki smiled. Everything went according to his plan. “Well... I
think you will be a good guardian in Asgard. You know, a warrior.”
He snapped his fingers and her wings were free. “I kinda trust you
even if you don't trust me.”
“Why are you so generous?”
“Why are you so generous?”
“Because we are friends.”
“FRIENDS?” She laughed finally getting up. “We used to be
friends. Until the New York. Until you left me big scar on my back
and told me that I'm miserable creature. Nice, isn't it?” She run
after him and tried to catch Loki. She almost had Laufeyson but her
hands caught only air. As always. First time when it happened she
thought she was going crazy. Now she was not so sure about it. This
was so real, this pain, this cold...
“You all will be safe in Asgard, remember that.” She heard next
to her. She turned around but again she was alone in the room.
“I'm going crazy...” She whispered to herself. “He is dead and
I'm convincing myself that it's not true. That Loki is still
somewhere here...” Laura subsided on the ground. But she can't just
sit for a long time because she heard Happy's voice. He was closer
and closer. She panicked asking herself what to do. Suddenly she saw
it. Captain's shield. She smiled sadly, grabbed it and run towards
the window. Before she jumped and flew she turned around wiping away
a tear.
“Thanks, Loki...” She whispered. “And I'm sorry that he didn't
have more time, my friend. In spite of everything I wish that you
could be here with me...”

The men went out to the shadow. There was a sad smile on his face
when he looked at the girl
flying away. There were so many things that he wanted to tell her,
but he couldn't. He was
the
Mischief.
“I
am here and I'll always be with you.” Loki said, before walking
away.
